Evacuee Arrival in Oregon "Unlikely" According to FEMA Officials
Oregonians asked to remain ready to assist as needed
(Salem, OR) – Governor Ted Kulongoski today received a call from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), following reorganization of federal relief efforts, asking that state, county and city efforts remain on stand-by. According to FEMA, it is unlikely that the Oregon shelter for evacuees will be needed.
At the request of FEMA officials, Oregon relief efforts will remain in "ready mode" until the Governor receives confirmation as to whether the shelter will be needed.
