Governor Kulongoski orders flags to be flown at half-staff
 
Flags will be lowered in memory of SGT Brennan Gibson
 
Salem, Oregon—Today Governor Ted Kulongoski ordered all flags at public institutions be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, in memory of Sgt. Brennan Gibson of Tualatin.
 
Gibson, 26, died on December 10 of injuries sustained when an explosive device detonated near his HMMWV in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Infantry (Airborne), 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division in Fort Richardson, Alaska.
 
“Sgt. Gibson was a loving father, husband and son,” said Governor Kulongoski. “He will be missed by many and remembered by us all for his honor and duty.”
