Governor orders flags to be flown at half-staff
 
Flags will be lowered in memory of Spc. Douglas C. Desjardins
 
Salem, Oregon – Today Governor Ted Kulongoski ordered all flags at public institutions be flown at half-staff on Thursday, November 16, 2006, in memory of Spc. Douglas C. Desjardins.
 
Desjardins, 24, died on November 5 of injuries in Ar Ramadi, Iraq. Desjardins graduated from Scio High School and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 37th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Ray Barracks, Giessen, Germany.
 
"Spc. Desjardins leaves behind a loving family and a community of friends who will always remember his dedication to his country and passion for life," Governor Kulongoski said. "His legacy will not be forgotten."
