Governor lauds Ruecker's contribution to OSP and public safety

Oregon State Police Superintendent ends 31-year service to state

Salem, Oregon—Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski issued the following statement after receiving Oregon State Police Superintendent Ron Ruecker’s letter of retirement, effective Dec. 1:

“Superintendent Ruecker has served the people of Oregon as a member of the Oregon State Police for 31 years.  He served as Superintendent of the State Police from December 1999 to December 2006.  The people of Oregon owe him a deep sense of gratitude for his commitment to our state and the Oregon State Police.  His service has made Oregon a better place for all of us.”

The Governor will shortly announce his process for the selection of Superintendent Ruecker’s replacement.
