Governor Announces Grant County District Attorney Vacancy
 
(Salem, OR) – On Friday, October 14, 2005 Governor Ted Kulongoski accepted the resignation of Grant County District Attorney Lee Carter, effective at midnight, December 31, 2005.  Governor Kulongoski thanks Mr. Carter for his years of service to Grant County and to the people of Oregon.
 
Due to Mr. Carter’s resignation, Governor Kulongoski is now accepting applications for Grant County District Attorney.  Applicants must submit an Interest Form for Judicial Appointment to the Governor’s Office, which is available online at: www.governor.oregon.gov.
 
Interest Forms should be mailed to:  David Reese, General Counsel, Office of the Governor, 900 Court Street NE, Salem, OR 97301-4047.  Interest Forms must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2005.  
 
The Governor will fill this vacancy by appointment, based on merit.  ORS 8.630 and 8.640 require that a candidate at the time of appointment be admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Oregon.
