Governor Orders Flags at Half-Staff in Memory of Law Enforcement Officers
Flags to be flown at half-staff Friday, December 19 and Saturday, December 20
(Salem) – Governor Ted Kulongoski today ordered all flags at public institutions to be flown at half-staff on Friday, December 19, in honor of Woodburn Police Department Captain Tom Tennant, and on Saturday, December 20, in honor of Oregon State Police Senior Trooper William Hakim, the law enforcement officers who died last week responding to the incident in Woodburn.
The public service in memory of Captain Tom Tennant has been scheduled for Friday in Woodburn, and the service for Senior Trooper William Hakim has been scheduled for Saturday in Salem.
“Together, these two men served Oregon for more than 30 years, putting their lives on the line daily so our citizens could be safe and secure in their homes and communities,” Governor Kulongoski said. “Please join me in keeping the families and friends of Senior Trooper Hakim and Captain Tennant in our thoughts and prayers.”
