Governor Orders Flags at Half-Staff in Memory of Oregon Soldier
Flags to be lowered Saturday, October 4, 2008, in honor of Captain Bruno G. de Solenni
 
(Salem) Today Governor Ted Kulongoski ordered all flags at public institutions to be flown at half-staff on Saturday, October 4, 2008, in memory of Oregon National Guard Captain Bruno G. de Solenni of Crescent City, California .
 
Captain de Solenni, 32, died on Sept. 20th while members of the Oregon Guard were on active duty with the Oregon Joint Forces Headquarters Embedded Training Team (OR-JFHQ ETT) in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the OR-JFHQ ETT unit on November 1st, 2007 and deployed in January 2008. 
 
“Bruno was an outstanding soldier and leader who will be remembered for his dedication and service to his state and his country,” said Governor Kulongoski. “He will be missed by his friends and family but never forgotten for his sacrifice.”
