Governor Supports Inclusion of County Payments in Federal Economic Rescue Bill
(Salem)– Governor Ted Kulongoski today praised Congress for including a temporary reauthorization of county payments in the federal economic rescue bill. The bill reauthorizes county payments through 2011.
“It’s only right that the Federal government provide economic relief for communities and businesses of all sizes. By including county payments, this bill helps Wall Street and Main Street weather these uncertain economic times.
“I urge Oregon’s Congressional delegation to see that this reauthorization of county payments is passed and is signed by the president.”
