Governor Announces Judicial Vacancies on Lincoln and Marion County Circuit Courts
Judge Huckleberry will retire from Lincoln County circuit bench; Judge Leggert will retire from Marion County circuit bench
 
Salem – Governor Ted Kulongoski announced today that he is accepting applications for judicial positions on the Lincoln County and Marion County Circuit Courts. 
 
The Lincoln County vacancy results from the retirement of Judge Robert Huckleberry, effective May 31, 2008.  The Marion County vacancy results from the retirement of Judge Terry Ann Leggert, effective April 1, 2008. 
 
The Governor thanked both Judge Huckleberry and Judge Leggert for their service to the State and said he will fill the positions by appointment.  
 
Attorneys interested in being considered for appointment to either position must submit an Interest Form for Judicial Appointments to the Governor’s office. 
 
The deadline for both the Lincoln County and Marion County Interest Forms is 5:00 p.m. on March 5, 2008
 
Interested applicants should mail or deliver the forms to: 
Kelly Skye, General Counsel, Office of the Governor, 900 Court Street NE, Salem, OR 97301-4047.
 
Governor Kulongoski fills judicial vacancies based on merit and encourages applications from lawyers with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.  ORS 3.041 and 3.050 provide the qualification requirements for appointment to the circuit court bench.
