Governor Orders Flags at Half-Staff in Memory of Oregon Soldier
Flags to be lowered Saturday, October 27, 2007 in honor of Sgt. Eliot W. Scott.
 
Salem - Today Governor Ted Kulongoski ordered all flags at public institutions be flown at half-staff throughout Oregon on Saturday, October 27, 2007 in honor of Army Sergeant Eliot W. Scott.
 
Scott, 24, of Portland, was a member of the 25th Infantry Division stationed in Hawaii. He was an infantry fire team leader.
 
“Sgt. Scott was a true American hero who came home to Oregon after serving two extended tours in Iraq,” said Governor Kulongoski. “His valor and service will never be forgotten.”
